If you have two or more Macintoshes, you probably notice that the clocks drift apart as time goes by. This can range from being a minor nuisance to a problem, especially if you do a lot of synchronizing between the Macintoshes. ClockSync II synchronizes the clocks between two or more Macintoshes, by setting the clocks of the "Servant" Macintoshes to that of a "Master" Macintosh.
ClockSync has two components. The ClockSync Master runs continuously on the "Master" Macintosh, while the ClockSync Servant can be run on any other Macintosh on the network to update its time.
ClockSync is especially handy when Daylight Saving Time adjustments need to be made. All you need to do is change it on the Master; the Servants will be automatically updated when the connect to they Master.
Requirements
ClockSync II will run on any Macintosh with a 68020 or better (it is accelerated for PowerPC). It requires an AppleTalk network for the ClockSync software to communicate. ClockSync II is Appearance Manager-savvy.
If you use the network time synchronization feature of the Master, you will need a direct or dial-in internet connection. Open Transport or "classic" Macintosh TCP/IP are supported.
NOTE: The internet time server feature of the Master cannot access the internet through a proxy server or similar internet firewall.
ClockSync II is shareware!
ClockSync II is a shareware product. If you find it useful, please consider paying the shareware registration fee. Not only will you help to support my efforts, but by becoming a registered user, I will provide you with a secret password that will eliminate the periodic registration warnings that will appear. Please see the "How To Register" chapter in this manual for more information.
Because ClockSync II is a multi-user network-based utility, how much you pay depends on how many users you want to license. Please see the "Register" utility for information on the various licensing options.
Setting Up ClockSync II
ClockSync II requires several special setup steps, to ensure that the ClockSync II servants can access the ClockSync II Master. Please follow the setup steps in Chapter 2 of this manual.
